Thanks.
Now as everyone has mentioned, depending on your tastes, I would go something along the lines of a R31, S13, MA61/RA65 and I'm sure there are a few others you can find and this also depends on what you really want to be doing, like upgrading engine later on etc? I would be starting off with something with mild power and decent suspension and learing how to steer, then get power as your skill progresses, otherwise you will end up around a pole, like most the R33 drivers in our area.. marvis. Harley Decombe actually inspired me to get my transitions snappier, that commo can snap like any car, and hes *bloody* modest about having good skills. he was even moddist when i said everyone at broadwater cheered 100 times more for his run then any other.
in summary commo drivers can contribute positively to this site and drifting in general. side note; ive come accross plenty of straight up bogans taht have s13s so who gives a F***, were all a bit bogan anyway. back to my VB -------------------- ![]() |

the car does not the man make peoples. :)
focus on the fun of driving them, not who else has one ... imo there are better choices, but there are also worse. Plenty of local support if you know where to look for go fast bits, and replacing breakables is cheap as s*** :) get a flogger vr, strip it and weld the F*** out of it, suspension and drive the thing....wheres the "commodores arnt ment to be here "crap come from? drifting is about having fun and doing cool s*** with your car? |

on topic.
depending on how much your into drifting should dictate how much you want to spend. if your just getting into it and looking for a good base to start, r31's FTW, the motor has enough grunt, you can bolt in s13 coilovers etc... S13 after that and then maybe tackle toyota's are ke70's, corona's will require engine conversions sooner rather than later. my advice: make a top 5 list of cars you would like, make a budget of how much you want to spend then times that by 2 find a fourm that cators for each of thoes car e.g. R31skylineclub, nissan silvia, AE86 driving club, toymods etc... and find as much info you can and go from there. off topic: i drive this slightly modified micra right. S13, R32, civic, Datsun drivers, 80's toyota drivers etc... usually just want to have a look, give me the thumbs up, nod, smile etc.. R33, WRX STI etc... usually see my car then give the chin flick followed by a dose as if to say "i see your car is modified but only costed >10k wheres mine was a 40k base price + i spent 4k at bob jane for these blinging wheels, you should respect my indviduallity as theres not many WRX's with 18's and a zorst around these days" commodoress.... they want to drag, i do not kid~! no one trys to drag race me apart from commodores. commodore vs. 1.3ltr micra... WTF. "aww man, i raced this car today man, oath my V8 commodore smashed him"... "what was the car?"... "a micra man" thats like braging that you beat your wife... who's in a wheelchair. falcons... never really had a problem with them... -------------------- |
